Impact Measurement and Results Access: Improving Patient Monitoring via SMS notifications and OpenELIS consolidated server.
From Daloa to San-Pédro, passing through Issia, Soubré, and Sassandra, I-TECH CIV and SEV-CI teams conducted a series of intensive missions from March 10 to 21, 2025. These interventions shared a common goal: to update tools for measuring the impact of SMS notifications and to optimize the visualization and retrieval of results from the consolidated OpenELIS server.
Data Collection on SMS Notification Monitoring
At the core of each mission, dedicated sessions allowed for the collection of valuable information on the effectiveness of SMS notifications sent to patients. These collections took place notably at CSU Grand Zattry and CSU Garage Daloa , involving local staff, including community counselors and data assistant monitors.
Training and Capacity Building
To ensure increased autonomy and mastery of tools, training sessions were organized at all sites. For instance, in Issia, data management agents from the health district were trained on the use of the consolidated OpenELIS server for result monitoring.
Coaching and Recommendations for Patient Monitoring
Personalized support was provided to improve SMS notification follow-up and patient management, particularly for those with high viremia. These coaching sessions occurred at EPHD Soubré and CSU Grand-Bereby , in close collaboration with on-site personnel.
These multi-site missions demonstrate I-TECH CIV’s constant commitment to supporting and strengthening digital health infrastructure in Côte d’Ivoire. By combining data collection, practical training, coaching, and tailored recommendations, we actively contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of diagnostics and patient follow-up, serving better public health.
